Our main speciality is railway electrical and electronic systems - ranging throughout design, manufacture, distribution, service and maintenance. Our expertise in these areas includes:
  • Design and manufacture of Hall-effect speed sensors (speed probes) for rail/traction, with some world beating parameters such as a 3mm air gap.
  • Eaton-Heinemann hydraulic-magnetic circuit protection equipment - for which we recently been appointed their European and USA traction specialists.
  • Hasler Rail Teloc train data recorders.
  • Secheron switchgear sales and service and commissioning of substations for them in the UK.
  • Repair and maintainance of contactors and high speed DC circuit breakers from Secheron and other manufacturers.
The latest addition to the Rowe Hankins range is the iWFL (intelligent wheel flange lubrication) system. Our iWFL is world beating in terms of low "on-cost" 1-penny-per-mile, including all lubricant and maintenance for the first million miles.

Our innovative Engineering Department is always ready to assist our clients in new projects and new product development.

Rowe Hankins Ltd was established in 1986 as a specialist distributor and manufacturer of electro-mechanical components. Since then, the company has established an enviable record in supplying to the traction industry by providing excellent technical sevices to its customers. The manufacturers' products that we distribute (such as Heinemann, Secheron, Hasler and Lem) are often added to by providing engineering support to modify to customer needs or by commissioning on trains or trackside.

The company's headquarters are on its own site in Bury - complete with offices, manufacturing, storage and distribution facilities to ensure total customer support (click here to find out where we are).
